On behalf of the Department of Urology of Shanghai Changhai Hospital of the Naval Medical University, I would like to welcome you to Shanghai for the “2017 Asia Paci c Prostate Cancer Preceptorship Program” to be held on Friday to Sunday, 13–15 October 2017.
Changhai Hospital was founded in July 1949. The department of urology sees 130,000 outpatients annually. We have more than 100 beds, and perform more than 4,000 Da Vinci surgeries yearly. Changhai Hospital is also one of the largest minimally invasive urology training base in China, with 2,000 square meters of space consisting of an independent endoscopic training room, ve integrated operating rooms, urodynamic examination room, endovascular ultrasound room, X-ray examination room, as well as Da Vinci surgical robot systems and advanced endoscopic equipment.
Since the entry into 21st century, Changhai Hospital has upheld the concept of “Linking the World” and has collaborated with well-known medical institutions from more than 20 countries, including Wake Forest University, Stanford University, Cleveland Medical Center, Cambridge University, McGill University and Singapore General Hospital.
The 3-day course is the result of a collaboration with Charité University in Berlin, Germany, and includes live surgery and interactive discussions, and is designed to provide a platform for discussion on recent advances in the research and management of prostate cancer.
